Cory Oberndorfer has spent 3 weeks as artist-in-residence at Charleston’s Redux Art Center. The fruits of her labor, large scale wall paintings inspired by roller derby, go on view to the public on May 26, 2010. Oberndorfer draws from pop culture imagery, her roller girls becoming icons. There is a playful nature to the work – a balance of sweet femininity and the rough and tumble nature of a rather aggressive sport. via CURATED
